Immersive residencies centred on field recording, ecological listening, writing, and interdisciplinary practice. Three formats are available, each offering a different balance of mentoring, studio time, and independent exploration in the landscape.

Residencies run between March and October. You can check available dates using the calendar below, or get in touch if you have specific timings in mind. Short stays, longer residencies, and bespoke arrangements are all possible depending on the season and studio schedule.

Who's it For

The residency welcomes practitioners across disciplines: sound, writing, movement, ecology, research, installation, and hybrid forms. You don’t need experience with ambisonics — just curiosity and a willingness to work with attention.

4‑Day Immersive Residency

A focused, gently intensive residency shaped around field recording, writing, deep listening, and ambisonic practice. Includes mentoring, guided sessions, and time in the studio to develop ideas and material at a steady pace.

  • 5 nights accommodation (up to 3 people)

  • 4 days mentoring and guided fieldwork

  • Ambisonic and environmental recording sessions

  • Studio time for listening, writing, or editing

  • Transport to selected field locations

A longer residency combining structured mentoring with spacious, self‑directed time. Ideal for developing a project, exploring ambisonic or interdisciplinary work in depth, or settling into a slower rhythm of research and making.

  • 8 nights accommodation (up to 3 people)

  • 4 days mentoring and guided fieldwork

  • 3 days self directed work in the studio or landscape

  • Ambisonic and environmental recording sessions

  • Studio time for listening, writing, or editing

  • Transport to selected field locations

7‑Day Immersive Residency

Field Recording Stay

A flexible, self‑directed residency for artists, writers, and researchers who want extended time in the landscape, access to the studio, and support with locations, approaches, and equipment when needed

  • Accommodation for up to 3 people

  • Studio access for listening, writing, or editing

  • Location suggestions and practical guidance

  • Optional transport to field locations

    Price: £150 per day

    Transport supplement: £50/day
